Are IDC Technologies and the Engineering Institute of Technology related?
IDC Technologies began providing cutting-edge technical and engineering training in the early 1980’s. From 2007 the decision was made to offer selected courses via distance education using the latest e-learning techniques. Demand for these courses grew so much that a unique new entity known as the Engineering Institute of Technology (EIT) was launched to focus on advanced distance learning in engineering and technology.
For more information on the EIT visit www.eit.edu.au.
Can IDC workshops I attend contribute to Continued Professional Development (CPD) points?
Yes, IDC workshops are designed to meet your continuing professional development requirements. A certificate documenting your attendance will be awarded at the end of the workshop. This serves as important evidence of your continuing professional commitment to your career. Existing members of Professional bodies that provide CPD points such as Engineers Australia are entitled to claim CPD hours for private study, short courses, and learning activities at the workplace. CPD hours can be claimed for our courses in most cases. We advise individual members to check with the institution if unsure regarding a specific course.
Where can I attend an IDC public workshop?
I am unable to attend a workshop, or it is not scheduled in my area. How can I still receive this training?
If the workshop you would like to attend is not scheduled in your area, or you are unable to attend the one that is, we have a number of different options for you.
Firstly, you can book the training to be delivered on an on-site basis at your work, or venue of choice, for a minimum of 5 people. Courses can be fully customised to your requirements. Delegates avoid travel time and expenses, thus providing companies with even greater savings.
Secondly, all IDC Technologies and EIT courses have at least one comprehensive companion manual. These manuals are available for individual sale in hard copy or e-book format. To view the book catalogue please visit www.idc-online.com/books.
How much does an IDC workshop cost to attend and are there any discounts?
As IDC delivers training worldwide, prices have been adapted to different regions. Please contact IDC for prices relevant to your country. IDC usually offers a discount for early bird registrations. See course brochures for early bird closing dates and other applicable offers.
How far ahead should I book?
It is recommended to book as early as possible to confirm your place on the course and get the best possible price.
I have booked on a workshop and haven’t heard anything.
IDC workshops run on a minimum numbers basis. This means confirmation of the workshop will be sent approximately 2 weeks prior to the workshop.
When is payment required?
Full payment is required prior to the commencement of the course.
How long is the workshop and what are the start and finish times?
IDC workshops typically run over 2 days, however some may be 3 or just 1 day. This will be stated clearly on the schedule and registration form, and prices will be adjusted accordingly.
Workshops begin at 8.30am and end at 5.00pm each day. It is recommended delegates arrive at 8.00am for registration. Morning tea, lunch, and afternoon tea breaks are provided throughout the day.
What do I need to bring?
When attending an IDC workshop, you will need to bring a pen, paper and a scientific calculator. If other materials are required for the workshop, these will be outlined in your confirmation email. You do not need to bring food or drink as morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea are provided.
I purchased an IDC eBook or Technical Manual (hard copy book) and found it wasn’t what I was after. What can I do?
IDC Technologies will consider each return request on a case by case basis and will either issue a refund, exchange or credit (to the value of the item, excluding any shipping charges) at the discretion of IDC Technologies. Hard copies must be returned in new condition if you are requesting a refund, exchange or credit.
For your protection, you may wish to send your hard copy book return via insured parcel post. IDC Technologies cannot pay for return shipping charges unless we have made a shipping error.
